Dozens were seen gathered in Berlin's Mauerpark protesting against coronavirus restrictions, Sunday, as the gathering followed Saturday's demonstration which drew tens of thousands to the capital's streets.
People sat in Mauerpark's famous amphitheater to once again decry government's approach to curbing the pandemic spread. Police were seen present at the event, as a small counter-protest was also held at the site.
The protests have come amid a recent spike in the number of confirmed cases in Germany. President of the Robert Koch Institute Lothar Wieler had confirmed on Tuesday that the disease control institute was "very concerned" at the latest developments in regards to the increase in cases.
He emphasised that citizens must abide by the coronavirus measures "for the upcoming months." German Chancellor Angela Merkel originally announced the measures in March, in order to curb the spread of the virus. The measures have been gradually relaxed nationwide as the number of confirmed cases has decreased.
