In Germany, authorities have reimposed lockdowns in western Germany to stamp out a new coronavirus cluster that started in a meat-processing plant. Residents in two districts in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia again face severe restrictions on movement. The new measures follow a COVID-19 outbreak at a slaughterhouse owned by Germany's largest meat packager. The outbreak has shined a light on appalling living and working conditions for migrant workers at meat-processing facilities in Germany. Local leaders tell DW the company deserves blame for the public health disaster.
