In Germany, the parliament has approved a sweeping rescue package to cushion the economic damage caused by the pandemic. The country has seen a sharp increase in coronavirus deaths, up 30 percent from yesterday to today's total of 206. The measures approved by parliament will support the country's healthcare infrastructure and pump billions of euros into struggling businesses.
