New motherboard, RAM and Pentium Gold CPU fitted in an ten year old desktop PC. This is the fourth episode in the “Old PC Upgrade” series that commenced in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o-p5Wq6MoQ

My video in which I install Windows 10 is here:

The final video in this series will feature a Linux install and tests, and is expected to post on April 25th 2021.

This video is intended to provide a generic guide to upgrading an old PC with whatever components you choose. However, the Pentium G6400 I used is listed on Amazon in the UK here:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B086MHSH2Z//ref=nosim?tag=explainin-21 and on Amazon in the US here: https://amzn.to/3wbi5iN (affiliate links). But in the current market, do shop around. This processor will work in any motherboard with an Intel 400 series chipset and an LGA1200 socket.
