Cameron Turner leads the #CommunityShield PPE project to create and distribute 20,000+ 3D Printed face shields across Ontario. Additionally, as the Chair of the Board for his local makerspace kwartzlab, he is also tasked with determining a post-COVID19 re-opening plan for the 140 member, 6500 sqft shared private workspace. The kwartzlab workspace has a huge variety of shared tools and different surfaces and is entirely volunteer run. Therefore it does not fit nicely into any of the categories or niches with published guides and requires a blended approach. kwartzlab is best considered as a cross between a carpentry workshop, a classroom and a personal fitness gym. Cameron will share preliminary plans for reopening the kwartzlab makerspace as well as precautions that were taken for the production of the #CommunityShield PPE project.
