GNS3 VM allows you to add and manage your IOS Router and Switch devices on a single virtual server. Also, in order to use Cisco IOU images on your computer, you must set up the GNS3 VM.

In Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, you need to install IOU support while installing GNS3 in order to use IOU images.

GNS3 VM installation requirements are:

1. GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator)
2. VMware Workstation Pro (or others)

To install the GNS3 Server virtual machine on your Windows 10 computer, follow the steps below in order.

Step 1: First of all, install the software required for GNS3 Server on your computer by watching our video tutorials below.

1. Install GNS3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQug4UOO5Oo
2. Install VMware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMo77WFIZD4

Step 3: After viewing the GNS3 website, click on the VMware Workstation and Fusion option for the virtualization program you use on your computer. Here, Fusion software is required for macOS systems.

Step 4: After downloading the archived GNS3 VM setup file, extract the compressed file to the folder with Winrar or 7-Zip program.

Step 5: After extracting the GNS3 VM.ova file to the folder, open VMware Pro and click File / Open.

Step 6: When the Open window opens, select the OVA file you downloaded and open it.

Step 7: Type a name for the GNS3 Server in the Import Virtual Machine window and also click the Import button after setting the location you want to back up.

Step 8: Wait while GNS3 Server is being imported onto #VMware.

Step 9: If the virtual machine you are importing has an older hardware version, upgrade the VMware hardware version and then run the VM.

Step 10: After running the VM, you will see the IP address on the main screen. In #Windows10, open the command prompt and ping the IP address of the VM via the ping command and test the network connection.

Step 11: If everything is working stably until this step, now run the GNS3 software and create a new project. Then, open the settings window by clicking on File / Preferences and select the #GNS3VM tab, then "Enable the GNS3 VM" and then click the OK button.

Step 12: After waiting for a while, when the connection between GNS3 and Server is established, follow our video tutorial and add a new Cisco Router and test it.
