A group of residents of a residential complex in the German town of Goettingen were allowed to leave the building on Monday, after having been put under the coronavirus quarantine since Thursday.

Dozens of people were seen queuing in front of the complex's gate to leave, with the requirement of showing negative COVID-19 test results and some form of identification.

The complex was put into quarantine on Thursday after 120 out of the over 700 residents had been tested positive to COVID-19.

On Saturday, at least eight police officers were injured in clashes with residents protesting against the restrictions.
