I stopped using my Xserve before covid as they were sucking the local power grid dry. However now that I have lots of solar power, I have unretired them. They are much too loud for my family room! I may set them up in an outside shed with my solar system lithium batteries. Maybe I'll make my own supercomputer with XGrid, not sure yet.

Sad but I am now running 8 Mac mini’s, 4 Xserves, MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air. Al currently in my family room. I won’t mention my 8 iPads. I purchased a iPhone 11 at the apple store and the guru did a find my Mac for some reason. She saw my computers and exclaimed "Holly Molly". It was then I realized that maybe I wasn't normal.

Anyone has a spare Xserve or server rack, please let me know! Might as well go big!

At the moment the xserves are mounted on an IKEA server rack. It works but a real server rack, in an outdoor shed, with my 42kw of lithium batteries, is my goal this summer.

The activity light was flashing on Xserve 4, because it has a second power supply that wasn't plugged in.

I will be doing some upgrades shortly as I will be testing using SSDs as boot volumes and adding USB3 PCIE cards with some very large TB drives.
