By now you have probably heard of UniFi or Ubiquiti. Their networking and security equipment has risen in popularity over the last several years.

In part one of our new series, we're going to show you how we switched to Ubiquiti and UniFi for a UDM, 16-port switch, and wireless access point (WAP).

We'll walkthrough the initial setup and configuration

UDM - Universal Device Management is what we want to achieve and we replaced our Netgear Nighthawk router and AmpliFi HD mesh point to get there.

UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro) is an all-in-one enterprise network appliance. UDM-Pro integrates all current and upcoming UniFi applications with a security gateway, 10G SFP+ WAN, 8-port Gbps (non-POE) switch, and off-the-shelf 3.5" HDD support.
