Someone sent me a Tweet regarding the state of online tournaments in fighting games. Typically free, no guaranteed prize money (or just none at all), and is often used by top players to try and build their winnings resume to hopefully get picked up. Is this what we really need in the scene? Could these tournaments matter so much more if we required them to be paid? Let's talk.
