FOUND A WAY PLAY WITH FRIENDS IN THE ESCAPISTS 2:
You can play with friends only if you unfriend in Epic Stores and than one of you starts the game public (you can set password) and the other one go to BROWSE GAMES and find the friend there (the game is called same as your friend nickname). You need to have the same region set in SETTINGS wheter it is Europe, Asia, e.g. (Thx to tenshiCSGO).

Also you can try to connect to somone else server you both see, after the creator of it leaves, it's yours!
