A game through Steam is not working correctly or won't start up? Is it behaving strangely or just stuck in a black screen? This guide will show how to "Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings".

Two examples:
1. Eador: Masters of the Broken World - 1:00
*The problem appears as if the menu buttons can't be clicked. But what's really happening is the buttons and mouse cursor are misaligned because of scaling. Once scaling has been corrected, mouse pointer won't be offset and alignment should be all good.

2. Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic - 1:20
*The problem is at the start of the game after launching. The game shows up in a smaller resolution than your screen and it runs in a corner of your desktop. You can't do anything while it plays the intro movie, then it just quits. Keyboard shortcut won't change the small screen into fullscreen and you can't alt-tab out either.

Fix:
Disable DPI Visualization - 1:40
