The German government’s Indo-Pacific guidelines and the new EU trade strategy define clear requirements for the scope of future EU trade agreements. An investment agreement has just been signed with China that barely meets these demands. Noting this, India has proposed the conclusion of a less extensive “Early Harvest Agreement”.
