In recent weeks we’ve all been working hard to ‘flatten the curve’ and stop the spread of Covid-19 – but is there another curve we’re inadvertently flattening at the same time?

One of the by-products of the global measures imposed to curtail the virus has been a positive impact on the natural world. Whether it’s a drastic drop in urban pollution or wildlife benefiting from improved access to food, the planet seems to have been getting a well-deserved break. We examine some of these social-distancing side effects and ask an important question: could this be a lasting change?
